We had the opportunity to speak at Northeast Baptist Church in Baltimore, MD two week-ends ago. This was our first "official" speaking engagement, so we were a little nervous. But, the church was SO welcoming. Here are a couple pictures from our talk:

Thank you, Pastor Bill and Northeast Baptist, for the opportunity to share and for all the new partnerships that were formed while we were there. We are blessed to have a church that will "enter in" to this ministry WITH us.
When we returned home, we received an envelope from one of the Sunday school classes. It contained prayers, hand-written like scrolls....they were prayers for us, for Ben and for all the people who still do not have the Bible in a language that they clearly understand. This envelope was confirmation that God is at work on hearts. Others are entering into this mission and taking ownership and responsibility for it. We feel priveliged to be a part of this ministry and are eager to share with others about how they can be a part of it, too!
Again, we are just one part of the team. We cannot further the work of Bible translation without your help. If your church, small group, youth group or group of friends is interested in giving us the opportunity to share our mission, please contact us at calebandadrienneweir@gmail.com.
In other news....
We leave for our next round of training this Thursday. Currently, we are reading the book "Cross-Cultural Servanthood" by Duane Elmer. This book is a taste of what we will learn. This book is really "rocking our world". In our heads, we knew that the world did not revolve around Westerners, but are we ready to live that way in another culture?
Here is what the back cover reads:
"Missionaries could more effectively minister if they did not think they were so superior to us.
The last thing we want to do in cross-cultural ministry is to offend people in our host cultures. Unfortunately, all too often our actions inadvertently communicate superiority, paternalism, imperialism and arrogance. How can we minister in ways that are received as true Christlike service?"
On a side note, we will have limited internet access while in Charlotte. We hope to update this blog, our familly blog and our Facebook Group as our main mode of communication.
